News
July 10, 2008
One month anniversary of the creation of Randor! I'm announcing this because I, um, forgot about the Randor day party we were gonna hold...
Again. I have to talk to Frost, but I'm gonna lobby for a Randor celebration...maybe a week or two from now. Annother thing to get us more members :-)

July 9, 2008
We've got 17 members! *danss*
Be our 18th! Just, like...sign up and stuff.

July 8, 2008
Where hath everyone gonst? Lol. I think that the user's activity mimics the admins, and I was away this past week due to relatives visiting.

July 3, 2008
Well, we've got 16 members. I'm sad to say that not all of them are as active as I had hoped. Still, there's only a couple of people who haven't been on in the last few days, so that's not too terrible. Actually, it's pretty good. JUST SIGN UP, GUESTS

July 2, 2008
Happy Canada Day, for those of us (ahem) that live there! I know this message is a day late, but I was busy watching the parade and hanging out with Frost :-)

June 30, 2008
Whoof, unlucky time for Randor - both admins were unable to be active. Well, I'm back now, and Frost should be back in a day or so, so...
Just a note to the peeps - I'll probably be less active during the weekend, for various reasons.

June 27, 2008
Hiya everyone! This is Remarque. Just saying that the draak farms are up and running, we're really looking for new members, those of you who advertise, and so on.
We've got 12 members, and I'm really looking forwards to getting more.

June 24, 2008
This is just a notice to say that on Thursday, I (Frost) am leaving for a few days. I should be back Tuesday or so. It's like a family reunion to bury my grandmother's ashes next to my grandfather's. So, try not to wither from lack of Frost, mkay? :)

June 23, 2008
Due to a brief hiatus in my own activity (I had a cousin over for the weekend and couldn't go on) we got slightly less active. Members and guests alike will be happy to hear that we're no longer in the slightest bit inactive - go ussss!

June 18, 2008
We've launched a draak breeding program! Checker out.

June 17, 2008
Nine members! Go ussss!!!

June 15, 2008

June 12, 2008
We've got 7 members! Go usss!

Jrne 12, 2OO8
I want chocolate

June 11, 2008
We now have two staff members - myself, and our co-admin Frost Spirit!

June 10, 2008
We've launched the site! It took hours and hours of backbreaking work, but I think I'm finally happy with it.
I'll have to make a better banner, and I'll have to make us an affiliation banner. Then I'll have to advertise *shudders*.
I'm finally more-or-less happy with the skin! Sure, it'll probably get refined a little...OK, a lot, but it'll stay pretty much the way it is.
There aren't enough resources yet. Must fix.
...But first, I must go to bed. *yawns* It's 3 in the morning here, and I'm busy tomorrow.

Chapter 11: Puzzles
Erick sat on the other side of the room, Gabriel hovered over Kyrin constantly while she slept which was what he was currently doing. But, Erick wasn't paying any attention, instead he was deep in his thoughts, fiance...I guess its possible, after all they were hugging when I found her, Erick wouldn't admit it, but the boy who was a year younger bothered him. He couldn't accept that he was Kyrin's fiance, not yet.

Standing up, he walked to stand next to Gabriel who was staring intently at Kyrin's face and stood up again every time she made the slightest movement. As soon as Erick reached his side, Gabriel turned around to face him abruptly, "Why isn't she waking up, its been a whole day!" he spat angrily, "You're killing her aren't you! You're with the bandits," Gabriel accused the lin, his voice think with anger and emotion. Erick shook his head, "healing takes time," he said simply and turned back to Kyrin. Her face was pale, and her inactivity was showing, she needed to eat soon. Erick sighed, "Tell me if she wakes, I'm going to make some food for when she does." Gabriel stiffly shook his head yes and sat down in the chair he'd been occupying for the past day while Erick shuffled off into another room.

Kyrin couldn't lift her head and the way it rested made it hard to breathe and all around her shouts, crys, and screams riddled the air and the surrounding woods carried suspicious eyes, some accusing, others hungry for blood. Kyrin stumbled forward, unable to see anything except the eyes and trees around her. The only sound dominating the air was that of the people in distress, and the laughter of those who seek to inflict the distress. One of them was coming after her, she knew it, she could feel the tremors in the ground from their heavy footsteps. But for now she was safe, she was hidden. Stumbling around, Kyrin continued to try and lift her head, but she couldn't, and she soon found herself gasping for air.

In an abrupt breath, Kyrin found herself awake once more, above her a worried face hovered, it was Gabriel's. Kyrin struggled to find her voice to speak, but she couldn't as Gabriel took the empty space first, "She's awake," he spoke to some mysterious person standing nearby, a second later she saw the other person's face, Erick. He smiled down gently, and Kyrin noticed that the two were polar opposites. After a few seconds of silence, Erick brought out a bowl of soup and without saying anything, the two propped her up and began feeding her. Kyrin remained silent, even though she had found her voice, as they brought the food to her and let her eat.

Chapter 12: Josa Key
It'd already been a few days, and Kyrin was already well on the mend, now able to get up and walk around a bit, she'd often been going outside, but no farther then a couple of steps away.
It was her fourth time outside, she stumbled out into the fresh air, when she heard far off voices. She only caught some of the exchange, but it didn't take long for her to puzzle it out. The bandits have found the house! Turning around Kyrin shouted, positive that she couldn't make it very far quickly enough. Immediately, Gabriel and Erick responded. "Bandits..." Kyrin managed but was unable to explain any further since the heavy footsteps were getting closer. Gabriel and Erick, cast each other quick glances and were gone in a blur. Gabriel picked Kyrin up and Erick soon returned with a spare amount of things, mostly for her, and they were dashing through the forest.

Kyrin didn't try to keep up with anything, but only allowed them to carry her through the woods. The only thing she watched was behind them, in case the bandits were gaining. Crash! The sound announced their arrival at the house they'd left behind only a few minutes ago, followed by proceeding bang and a loud grunt of frustration before they were out of earshot.

Kyrin wasn't sure how much later, but eventually Gabriel set her down. The clearing they'd arrived in was magnificent. Grassy growth covered all the floor with few weeds but plenty of flowers. But there was also a river flowing through it, and a short cliff face pouring a waterfall into the little river. Kyrin gazed happily as fish jumped out and sent water around, creating split second rainbows that were hard to catch. She turned back to the two boys who were now busy discussing, since when did they become friends? she wondered but push the thought from her mind as she tracked back to the question she'd wanted to ask, "Where is this?" Erick turned to her, his eyes careful as he studied her for a second, "Josa Key," he paused a second, once more studying Kyrin's expression, then as if thinking against it, he stopped talking, and turned away. Kyrin had never heard of it before, and was sure there was more to the story, but she knew that she wouldn't get any more out of him.

Turning away, Kyrin carefully stood up and walked over to the water, cupping her hands she dipped them into the calm surface of the water and took a careful sip. The water was sweeter then any she'd really had before, natural minerals obviously present in the gently flowing river. Kyrin smiled and stepped back, and turned to Erick who was making an announcement, "We'll stay here for the night!" Kyrin nodded in agreement, she wasn't sure how but the sun was already sinking in the sky. Gabriel looked unsure and it took a minute before he voiced his opinions, "Are you sure we're far enough away?" Erick shook his head, "No, but we probably can't go much farther, we'll each take turns with a night watch," Gabriel sat silent for a minute before finally giving in, "Fine, I'll go get the sticks for a fire." With that Gabriel stood and left.

Kyrin looked at Erick who was now scavenging through the bag he'd brought, he paid no attention to Kyrin at the moment and simply stood up and walked over to the river face and before Kyrin realized it, he'd caught a fish. Jumping up, Kyrin walked over and watched for a minute, Erick was catching the fish with such ease it amazed Kyrin finally he turned to her and stepped closer for a second, "Would you like to try?" he questioned, and smiled. Kyrin nodded and soon she was in the water and he was giving her careful instructions as to how to catch a fish, at least like him. Standing knee-deep in the water, Kyrin held gently on to Erick's arm as he talked her through each step. Finally a fish swam by, Kyrin reached down as quick as she could into the water, only to end up falling forward and landing on her hands. Though still smiling, Kyrin stood up and looked down at her clothes, most of which was wet. Kyrin turned to see Erick's face bright from holding back a laugh, finally he burst out laughing, Kyrin fixed him with a glare, but couldn't hide her smile. Finally, she put her hand in the water and splashed him. He stopped laughing but held his smile and he fixed her with a cold stare. Kyrin's smile faded then Erick splashed at her. Sending her in to another fit of laughter.

"What are you two doing?" Gabriel had come back and his arms were filled with sticks and though he tried to keep a level tone, his face gave himself away. It was clear that he wasn't happy with them and though he'd never admit it he was suddenly crazy jealous. Kyrin straightened herself up and Erick did the same as Gabriel stared coldly at them, "You realize how much noise you were making, they could've heard that and could be on there way here right now." Kyrin looked down at her feet, shame finally bubbling up inside of her but Erick came up beside her and gently grabbed her arm and helped her out of the water. Gabriel walked over, casting a quick glare at Erick, who now stood a couple feet off but was glaring just as harshly back, Gabriel walked up to Kyrin and gently lifted her chin so that she now faced forward, he smiled and before Kyrin could react kissed her. Just as quickly he turned around and smirked, leaving Kyrin dumbstruck by the river side. Erick, who'd stepped forward a bit, searched her now blank face intently for a minute before speaking, "We'll work on dinner, you can sleep while we make it." Kyrin only stood there for a preceding minute as Erick slowly walked off and over to Gabriel who was lighting the fire. Finally Kyrin turned back to the river and sat down as Erick and Gabriel began talking in hushed, harsh voices. But they never mentioned Gabriel kissing her, since Erick was still under the impression that they were fiances, even though he highly doubted it. Leaning back, Kyrin stared at the sky and watched the brilliant canvas of stars slowly begin appearing.

Chapter 13: Taken
Kyrin lay half awake on the hard ground. Around her, the breathing of her companions told her that they were sound asleep. But she couldn't sleep, in addition to her back's throb of pain that never left her, her thoughts never allowed her rest. Constantly whirling through different topics but everything centered around the same thing, the loss of her village. She knew that that pain would precede long after she'd healed from the attack.

The night around her was quiet, she could tell, but around her the clearing was filled with noise from the waterfall and Erick's and Gabriel's heavy breathing. But unlike most, the noise uneased her, she couldn't hear much outside of the camp. Gradually, to her dull thoughts, Kyrin drifted into a fitful sleep.

It seemed like only a few minutes had passed when she felt someone frantically touching her side and practically yelling at her to get up, "Kyrin, hurry!" The voice, which she soon recognized as Gabriel's pleaded, "The bandits!" Kyrin jolted upright at that as gradually she became aware of her surroundings. There were four bandits, each of varying size. They made a diamond shape and slowly approached Erick who was clutching his flute. However, the bandits did not have their weapons drawn. "We've come for the girl," they stated, "if you hand her over, we won't hurt, or bother you again. But if you resist we shall take her by force." The lead bandit, visibly the biggest out of the quartet, eyed them all, his eyes lingering on Kyrin for a second longer then the rest then finally returning to Erick who spoke his reply, "And, why might I ask do you need her?" He kept his voice stable even though he was enraged at them and himself the bandit spoke almost immediately, "She...took something of ours." The bandit was visibly growing impatient, he began fingering his sword hilt and tensing his muscles repetitively. "Well then," Erick spoke quickly now, knowing that the bandits could easily just start attacking them, "Thats not very good now, is it? I suppose if we just returned what she took, we could deal with her and you good sirs could be on your way." The bandit snorted, "SHE is what we want. SHE ran away. Give her here!" The bandit drew his sword and rushed forward. Erick was weaponless, except his flute which he drew quickly and began playing the moment it touched his lips, an eerie song which made the bandit stop dead in his tracks. With a quick glance he grumbled in frustration, he hadn't realized that Erick was a lin.

It only took a moment for the lead bandit to regain composure, though his face showed his struggle, and the smaller bandits were covering their ears with their hand, but he surged forward. Gabriel had already left Kyrin's side and ran straight at the bandit, balling his fist and throwing a punch at the bandit. Who turned then and brought his sword down on defenseless Gabriel. Erick's playing faltered and the other bandits broke into action as Erick attempted to hit the lead bandit himself. Quickly he averted back to playing the flute and as he did so, ran back towards Kyrin. Kyrin planted her feet as a smaller bandit came forward. It was clear they wanted her alive because he held a robe in his hands instead of a sword. the rope was tied like a lasso and though he was now ignoring the music, he had trouble swinging the lasso.

Kyrin decide it was best to keep moving as Erick returned his flute to his waist and began swinging hits at the nearest bandit. Occasionally, his eyes darted worriedly to Kyrin. Then, before Kyrin could realize it, a bandit who'd been hiding in the wood lassoed her and threw her over his shoulder. Kyrin kicked her legs roughly, attempting to catch the seasoned warrior of guard and have him drop her, but to no success as he retreated in to the wood and it only took a second before the other bandits followed.

Erick and Gabriel stared evilly at each other. Clearly blaming each other for them achieving their goal. Erick was the first to begin running quick-footed after them. Gabriel caught up a few seconds later and stopped Erick, "Its best to track them, that way we can surprise them and they won't know we're coming," Gabriel looked at Erick, forgetting the blame earlier and eventually Erick came to a stop, "Okay, but you must track, I was never taught how to do so." Gabriel only nodded and began forward.

Chapter 14: Attack
Gabriel remained low to the ground, his breathing as steady and even as he could get it. On the other side, hiding in the bushes, Gabriel could just make out Erick. They'd been following the bandit for 2 days, and now was the time to make their move.
In the clearing, Kyrin laid; tied by her hands and feel and unconsious. At this point it was a race against time, since by the blood that seeped from her back, and the pale look about her face, it was obvious that she could easily bleed to death. It wasn't only her back that was bleeding, but many newly inflicted wounds as well. Gabriel growled a bit to himself, How could they possibly do that? He was enraged that they had allowed the bandits to take Kyrin, and also that they hadn't caught up with them earlier.
While Erick had his flute, Gabriel had no weapon except for a stick he had found and sharpened the previous day. Now he gripped it tightly, threatening to destroy the sturdy wood. Slowly, he counted in his head. They were to attack when they reached 50.
46
47

Gabriel tensed his muscles, ready to pounce out and attack the nearest bandit.
48
49

Gabriel's eyes locked on the nearest bandit. The man was very fubsy and gruff. His eyes were streaked gray and were focused evily on Kyrin in the center of the clearning. The look in his eyes practically gave away what he was thinking; thoughts of lust and of murder.
50.
Erick's strange but powerful music began playing immediatly, filling the clearing and sending many of the bandits into a crouch, their hands clutched over their ears. Gabriel reacted a split second slower, but launched out of the branches and tackled the nearest bandit. Since the bandit wasn't exactly the strongest, Erick was able to get right past him and proceed on to the next one.
By then, many of the bandits had recovered and some went after Erick. While others turned on Gabriel. In a matter of seconds he was surrounded and then he noticed that the flute playing had stopped. Silently, Gabriel cursed their luck under his breath. Then in a few fluid motions, he began hitting the opponets around him. However, it seemed like it was too much.
Soon, Gabriel found himself on the ground and a heavy foot pushing down on his back. Barely able to turn his head, Gabriel looked around. In the center of the clearning, he saw Kyrin her eyes were wide open and she stared at Gabriel with fear present in her eye.
Erick was nowhere to be found in Gabriel's field of vision and silently, he hoped that the lin had gotten away. Finally, he brought his eyes back to Kyrin. She was still looking at him. A desperate look in her eyes. Slowly, she sat up. Her matted hair sticking to the blood that still flowed from her back. She was so pale. With dificulty she sat up and unexpectedly, attempted to hit one of the bandits. Her blow rebounded right off and he quickly turned around and hit her with a sturdy blow to the head. "NO!" Erick yelled, struggling to get up. The bandits around him laughed but kept him pinned to the ground.
